Charter Arms Warranty +1 I had one of the old undercovers years ago and liked it and thought a stainless DAO model would be good for pocket carry. I thought it was priced pretty low but the dealer said he had taken it in trade and 'hadn't shot it but believed it worked fine' - I was to find out this was not exactly true. The Charter Arms PROFESSIONAL is a 7-shot revolver chambered in.32 H&R Magnum and is billed as 'a true fighting handgun.'
I have also used both Charter Arms, and Ruger repair, and found both to be equal in ability, and turn around time. I needed my New Single Six to go in because the Long Rifle cylinder was binding with ammo in the charge holes. Ruger did an excellent job, and turn around was 5 weeks. My new Pathfinder 22 snub was shooting low and left with fixed sights and extraction of fired cartridges was difficult. Charter fixed it perfectly, and turnaround was 4 weeks. Both companies paid shipping both ways.I would buy another Charter Arms revolver, if I could get the one I want. They are hard to come by, and the one I want isnt available. I am very happy with my.
Great little stainless revolver with good lockup, 8 shots, and an excellent trigger for a 22 revolver. Charter shaved the front sight, replaced the firing pin(?) polished the chambers, and targeted the revolver. Sweet little plinker that is an equal in every way to my LCR-22, that my wife has claimed as hers.
I love when she does that, its an excuse to buy something else. Someone asked how the quality of Charter Arms stacks up against the Ruger Revolvers. I own a bulldog and 3 Ruger revolvers (SP101, Vaqero, Redhawk). And Charter arms is quite a bit behind Ruger in quality. SIghts are usually way off and the gun just lacks the quality feel a Ruger has. Triggers OTB are about equal, but i always do trigger jobs on all my firearms anyway, so thats a non issue. The thing with charter arms is they make a lot of revolvers in semi auto rounds, so thats thier nitch and that what they go on.
BUt as far as overall quality they are not a Ruger and most def not a S&W. Good little guns thou if you want to get a revolver that shoots the same thing your M&P and Sprinfield shoots. But they are mid level qualiy I think.
IN about the same catagory as a Taurus.they are mid level qualiy I think. IN about the same catagory as a Taurus.I disagree completely that they are in the same quality category as Taurus. I have a Taurus 94 snub that is a complete piece of junk. The trigger is unusable in Double Action. The finish is blotchy.
The lockup is sloppy and varies wildly from cylinder to cylinder. The chambers look like they were drilled with a broken drill bit. I bought this thing new, and am embarrassed to say so. I ordered and paid for it, and the gunshop refused to get me another one, instead telling me to send it to Taurus for repair, which I have not done.
My Charter is so much better in every way, and every Charter I have looked at in gunshops are of good quality. Here is what the Taurus chambers looked like brand new from the factory. I can say that the pitbull has the look and feel of quality. I can also imagine the fine detail and engineering that went into the tiny spring loaded cams in the star that hold the rimless cartridge. The lifetime warranty was also a factor when i purchased. I disagree completely that they are in the same quality category as Taurus. I have a Taurus 94 snub that is a complete piece of junk.

And I don't nesassaraly think taurus is poor quality either for that matter. Most of their revolvers are not too bad. But on par with ruger?
